A luxurious Baroque manor from the beginning of the 18th century, reminiscent, in its
conception, of an Italian country villa, was ordered to be built for his wife by Jan
Petřvaldský of Petřvald.
The manor is composed of two independent three winged buildings, which
face each other with their facades. The project was probably worked out by Domenico Martinelli,
and the construction was finished by Mořic Grim. In the period around 1900 Buchlovice was
carefully adapted into a state residence for the diplomat Leopold Berchtold.

The furnishings and stucco decoration of the manor interiors are in harmony with its exterior
picturesqueness. We are sure of this upon seeing the small picture of the central hall. The
whole premises are surrounded by beautiful gardens and parks with many domestic and exotic
plants.
