   This 40 kilometre long reservoir was the result of building a dam on the Vltava river and of flooding the valley alongside it. The dam is 22 metres high and incorporates an underground power station. The lake itself is ideal for recreation, fishing and for all sorts of water sports. During the season, many recreation areas are accessible by water transport.

  Boubín. The Boubín virgin forest, 1362 m. above sea leve. The whole south slope of Boubín is a mid european Primeval Forest Reservation. It was founded in 1858 in an area of 660 hectares. The Kaplice Brook flows through this reservation area.
